Byford Rail Extension Public Art and Interpretive Plan

Those living and working in Byford will soon have a new transport choice with the future station location, 8kms south of Armadale Station.

The consultant team will be working with working with the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale to make the most of development opportunities in the growing town centre, future connections, constructability and community impact, to seamlessly connect Byford residents to the Perth CBD. In addition to taking cars off the road, the project will further help improve traffic flow by reconfiguring Thomas Road into a road-over-rail bridge.

The State Government is also investigating expanding the Byford Rail Extension project scope to potentially include elevated rail in the Armadale and/or Byford town centres.. Apparatus is on the consultant team including Laing O’Rourke and other consultants, Hames Sharley, and UDLA.

Apparatus is collaborating with the Alliance Team and working with the PTA and METRONET Teams to develop the Sense of Place Statement and Public Art Plan and to deliver the Public Art Program. The Public Art Plan articulates and guides the delivery of creative interventions undertaken as part of the new Byford Rail Extension and is developed in alignment with METRONET’s Gnarla Biddi, Sustainability and METRONET Public Art Strategies.
