Byford Rail Extension Public Artworks

Those living and working in Byford will soon have a new transport choice with the future station location, 8kms south of Armadale Station. Apparatus is on the MetCONNX Alliance Design Team including Laing O’Rourke, Hames Sharley, Weston Williams and UDLA. In the first stage of works, Apparatus delivered the Sense of Place Statement and Preliminary Public Art Plan. The PPAP was developed in close collaboration with all related consultancy disciplines, METRONET and the Office of the Government Architect.

This stage involves refining of the public art opportunities presented in the PPAP including wider consultation, such as the Cities of Armadale and Serpentine Jarrahdale and other stakeholders who may be involved with public art commissions as part of works within the greater Byford Rail Extension precinct area. During this stage, the METCONNX Team will deliver priced options to potentially expand the project scope to include elevated rail, with the final project scope to be determined subject to stakeholder consultation, price and funding availability. Once the scope is confirmed the delivery of the artwork program will commence.
