Esperance Indoor Sports Stadium Mural

The new Esperance Indoor Sports Stadium is a $7.8 million facility, a major construction program developed as part of the Greater Sports Ground Redevelopment. Completed in July 2020, the New Esperance Indoor Stadium is now open and enjoyed by the community. The Shire wanted to enhance the community asset by developing a mural on the building exterior. Apparatus was engaged to develop a curatorial plan, undertake stakeholder consultation, procurement and project management.

Esperance Civic Centre

Esperance Civic Centre Artworks

The Esperance Civic Centre Artwork Project was proposed by the Shire of Esperance as a project that will provide the Esperance community with a stimulating experience on visiting the Civic Centre venue and define the building as a visual attraction. The project was part of an ongoing renovation program to modernise the centre, which was first opened during the early 1980s. The Shire commissioned Western Australian Artist Team Chris Nixon and Andrew Frazer to design and deliver a new public artwork located on the façade and entrance of the Esperance Civic Centre.

Lakelands Station Artworks

Lakelands Station helps ease the growing demand for public transport in the southern suburbs. Residents in Lakelands, Madora Bay and surrounds have a new travel option to choose from with the newest Mandurah Line station being built in Lakelands. Apparatus collaborated with the consultant team and worked with the PTA and METRONET Teams to develop the Sense of Place Statement and Public Art Plan to deliver the Public Art Program. 

Newman Recreation Centre Mural

The artwork designed for the Newman Recreation Centre is inspired by the unique East Pilbara region, with it’s ancient geological wonders and rich varied hues. The artwork aims to develop and foster “a sense of place”, engaging with visitors and residents of Newman. The abstract elements provides an opportunity for the viewer to explore and develop their own meaning.
