Mia has over 15 years of experience as a designer and project manager within the interpretive design and placemaking within the public realm.
Her experience includes the translation of interpretive themes and narratives into visual and physical outcomes across a multitude of 2D and 3D mediums. This includes designing for local governments and high visitation destinations suchas museums, zoos, botanic gardens, and urban public environments. The role of these visual outcomes is to captivate and engage their audiences.
Mia is experienced in collaborating with large multidisciplinary design teams in addition to stakeholder engagement, community activation, and consultation through collaborative workshops.
Mia’s role within Apparatus is to research the cultural and social identity of each site in planning and identifying public art and placemaking opportunities that connect people, land, and culture through shared public spaces. She also puts her design and project management experience to practice through the Apparatus design assistance program.
