Dellas Bennell

Dellas is a Whadjuk, Wardandi, Wilman and Baiyungu yorga, a mother of three and an established artist based in Bunbury. Dellas recently completed an artist residency at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (BRAG).

Dellas and her daughter Korrine Bennell have an art company, Karrak Designs @karrakdesigns, together they have been involved in public art commissions for METRONET, MRWA, and the City of Bunbury. Dellas has also had artwork commissioned as part of the Noongar Art to China Exchange Project.

Dellas has been painting for many years, mostly acrylic on canvas, she paints in a representational contemporary style. In recent years Dellas has ventured into creating custom glass jewellery and painting on silk scarves.

Dellas’s work depicts her love of wildlife and native flowers and plants; especially dolphins, turtles, eagles and orchids. Many of her works respond to coastal living, promoting the uniqueness and diversity of Noongar art in the southwest.

Dellas enjoys sharing art, culture and creativity with her community.
