Condition Reporting for Collection Management Workshop

The Bunbury Regional Art Gallery invited Apparatus to develop and facilitate a tailored workshop designed to enhance staff expertise in collection management, specifically focusing on condition reporting.

The full-day session combined core collection management principles with practical, hands-on activities. Participants explored optimal practice in art handling and condition reporting through real-world scenarios, decision-making exercises and group discussions. The workshop emphasised the role of condition reporting as a valuable tool in maintaining and managing the City of Bunbury Art Collection, as well as the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery’s program of touring and in-house exhibitions.

The workshop schedule included an engaging visual presentation, comprehensive handouts, and condition report templates. Participants also had the opportunity to apply their learning directly with exercises involving the City of Bunbury’s Art Collection items and current gallery displays, fostering applicable practice of the methods taught.
